Jesus First Leadership Stands For...
Trust
We trust that those who took
their ordination and commissioning vows meant exactly what
they vowed. Those who make these confessions may choose to
exercise them in a variety of ways. We trust that their
commitment to the Christ and His church is no less than
ours.
Commitment to the Office of the President of the Lutheran
Church—Missouri Synod
We hold the Office of President
of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in high regard. It is
worthy of the highest respect. We pledge ourselves to
support whoever holds this office with our public
affirmation whenever possible. Should there be occasion when
we disagree, we will do so in ways that will neither
dishonor the President or ourselves.
Commitment to Synod’s Ablaze! and Fan into Flame
initiatives
We take seriously the Synod
Convention resolutions to be reaching as many people as we
can with the good news that Jesus is our Lord and Savior,
and that what He has done for us, He has done for all
people.
Commitment to support the Council of Presidents
The Council of Presidents, the
gathering of LCMS District Presidents, represents the church
very well. We support their leadership in addressing so many
of the urgent issues facing the church. We urge them to
exercise with courage the leadership that has been entrusted
to them.
Commitment to the new structure of Synod
While these structural changes
may only be the beginning, we believe that they are critical
for our Synod to use the resources that are available to us
in people and in funding to “vigorously proclaim the Gospel
through work and deed in the churches, communities and
world” in the most powerful and significant ways.
Commitment to Lutheran World Relief and Lutheran Immigration
and Refugee Services
We believe working with our
Lutheran brothers and sisters in LWR and LIRS is the best
way to provide the most efficient and effective relief to a
wearied world.
