Nominate
for Synod President and Vice Presidents
Every three years the LCMS gathers in
convention for worship, prayer and to make decisions about the
leadership and direction of the church. The election of the
President, First Vice President and the second through fifth
vice presidents, is one of the earliest and most important
actions of the convention. Prior to the convention each
congregation has the opportunity to nominate two pastors for
President and two pastors for First Vice President. Each
congregation may also nominate up to four pastors for the
offices of second through fifth vice-presidents.
For president, Jesus First recommends
nominating President Gerald Kieschnick and First Vice
President William Diekelman. There are many reasons to
continue our support for these two fine pastors of the church.
Other articles in this newsletter document the unifying vision
and leadership they have brought to the LCMS through Ablaze,
the circuit counselors meeting, and their passion for the
mission of the church. For First Vice President, Jesus First
recommends nominating First Vice President Bill Diekelman
and Rev. Charles Mueller, Jr.
Twenty pastors will be nominated for second
through fifth vice president. The following ten pastors, three
of whom are incumbents, have been raised to our attention as
servant leaders in the LCMS. Jesus First recommends nominating
three incumbents: Rev. Paul L. Maier, Rev. Dean W. Nadasdy,
and Dr. David D. Buegler. Additionally, Jesus First
recommends nominating the following pastors: Rev. Wally M. Arp,
Rev. James Brown, Rev. Bryant Clancy, Rev.
Warren Davis, Rev. Eloy Gonzalez, Rev. Charles Mueller,
Jr., and Rev. Thomas R. Zehnder.
